I love making movies.

The Secret Life of Trees (2021)

This project was filmed in 48 hours, as part of the Run N Gun film competition in Vancouver. The 4 minute cut was selected to be screened as a finalist, and then we were able to take some time with editing to create a new and improved, extended cut. Starring Julian Baisa and made by the same crew as One Million Trees (2020). This film is currently in post production.

i hope you find the person you want to drown in (2020)

A collection of intimate stories of love, identity, and anxiety told through experimental narrative-documentary forms. My role in this project was as co-producer, cinematographer and editor. Directed by the person I want to drown in, Ayesha Habib,

Anxiety Damage (2019)

This film is a dance/ poetry meditation on social anxiety and mental health. It was created in collaboration with Justin Aether and @poetrybychan. My roles were as cinematographer and editor. This was a follow up from an earlier collaboration with Justin Aether in Keep It in the Streets (2018)

Blood N Guts (2019)

This was a 48 hour film competition in Vancouver, BC. I was asked to direct this script with 8 cast members between the ages of 7-12 in a period of 48 hours. Since I can speak candidly on my own website, we ended up being disqualified because of a misunderstanding with our editor. After this, they told me if I re edited a version in 12 hours, they would screen this version, even though we were still disqualified. This was a great exercise in directing another person’s script, directing children on set and working with editors. 48 hours just isn’t enough time!

The Listener (2013)

Nothing more embarrassing than starring in your own semi-nude art film. But when you’re an independent filmmaker without the tools or resources, you do what you’ve got to do in order to keep working and honing your skills. Even though it makes me cringe, this is practice for me and because of that, I’m still proud of it.

Hobo (2012)

This was my final project as a writer/ director at Vancouver Film School. We shot this on 16mm film and it was a huge learning experience. I wanted to create this avant garde portrayal of people living in Vancouver’s downtown eastside neighborhood. It was supposed to be so ‘in your face’ that it would stomp over all stigma barriers. We even licensed music from ‘Listener’ - one of my favourite spoken word artists. At the end of the day, I was 18 when I made this so it has its flaws, but I stand by it.
