I love interviewing people.

The Opposite of Isolated (2022)

A new web series about talking to strangers which I co-directed and edited for CBC’s Creator Network. This timely documentary series tackles post-pandemic loneliness by taking to the streets of Vancouver for intimate and vulnerable conversations. From a story about a retiree’s lost love to a young woman’s journey healing from mental illness to a young man’s bond with his partially-blind dog, the conversations are detailed with poignant moments, treasurable wisdom, and relatable emotions.

One Million Trees (2020)

  • Winner of two Leo Awards (British Columbia Film and Television Awards) for Best Direction and Best Editing, nominee for Best Short Documentary and Best Musical Score.

  • Has been officially selected and screened at 12 film festivals worldwide.

  • Recognized in the Canadian House of Commons by Tim Louis MP as a ‘timely, informative..’ and ‘..important work’.

In 2020 I had the opportunity to write, direct and edit a full length documentary about tree planting in Canada for CBC’s Absolutely Canadian series. This was a passion project which I had started writing more than 7 years prior, when I was working as a tree planter myself.

I wanted to create the first all encompassing documentary about Canadian tree planters. This was an extremely ambitious task considering our budget of $40 000 CAD and schedule allowing just a few months for filming a subject which is inherently seasonal. Despite all odds we pulled off this film, which has been praised in filmmaking and tree planting communities alike.

Behind the Scenes

Keep It in the Streets (2018)

This was an independent and self funded project I created with my friends during our evenings and weekends over the span of 18 months in Vancouver. We interviewed over 400 people and photographed hundreds more. We recorded with a bunch of local artists and created our own genre. This was the dream project and it’s my dream to one day renew this concept with enhanced vision and resources in other cities around the world.

Coming to a city near you

Keep It in the Streets means spreading love to the people around you and expressing that love by creating film, art, music or skateboarding that interacts.
